why i write

aspen kobie

When I first began writing it was just for me. It gave me an opportunity to weather the storm inside my head. Creative writing allowed me to explore things about myself that I didn't understand and didn't know how to talk about. Each new character became an outlet for me to separate little bits of myself and look at them in a different light. Eventually, I started to know myself a little more genuinely.  I'm not sure if I would have had the bravery to face myself if not for so many amazing writers before me. When that dawned on me, I realized I wanted to share my own stories in hopes to inspire others to see themselves with kindness and explore their own truths.
